Privacy Policy
Remio (“the app”, “we”) is a personal-inventory app. In short: your inventory stays on your device, sign-in is optional, and we don’t run ads or track you across other apps.
What stays on your device
Everything you add to Remio (item names, places, quantities, notes, dates, and the photos you attach) is stored locally on your device. We do not run a server that keeps your inventory, and there is no Remio account. If you delete the app, that data is removed with it. You can export a backup from Settings; it is shared only through your device’s own share sheet, to a destination you choose.
Camera and photos
With your permission, Remio uses your camera and photo library so you can attach a picture to an item. Attached photos are stored locally with your inventory. Remio does not upload your photo library or access photos you don’t choose.
“Identify with AI” (optional)
When you tap Identify with AI, and only then, the single photo you took is sent over a secure connection to our processing endpoint, which forwards it to Google’s Gemini vision model to detect what’s in the image and suggest names.
- The photo is used only to generate that response and is not stored on our endpoint.
- Google processes the request under its API terms.
- Manual add and photo-only add never send anything off your device. AI is always optional.
Sharing a move (optional)
Moving mode can turn a move into a read-only link you send to whoever is helping. The whole list travels inside the link itself, after the “#”. Browsers never send that part to a server, so opening the link is the first and only time the contents are read, and they are read by the browser doing the opening. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and there is no link to revoke because there is nothing holding the data. Photos are never included.
A link is a snapshot, not a live view: it shows the move as it stood when you shared it. Treat it like any other message, since anyone who has the link can read it.
Notifications
If you enable reminders, Remio schedules local notifications on your device (warranties, lent items, low stock, expiry). They’re generated on-device; no reminder data is sent to us.
Sign-in (optional)
You can use Remio fully as a guest. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a basic account identifier (and, where you allow it, your name and email) so your profile is yours across devices. Signing in is optional and never required to add, organize or find your things.
Usage analytics
To understand how Remio is used and to improve it, we collect anonymous, aggregated usage data through PostHog (hosted in the EU). This includes in-app events (for example: onboarding completed, a paywall viewed, an item added), a random device identifier, and basic technical details such as app version, device model, OS version and language.
- It never includes your inventory contents, item names, notes or photos.
- It is not used for advertising and is not sold or shared.
- We do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and do not track you across other apps or websites.
- If you sign in, these events are associated with your account identifier so we can support you across devices.
What we don’t do
- Sign-in is optional; Remio works fully without an account.
- No advertising, no ad tracking, no cross-app or cross-site tracking.
- We do not sell or share your data.
Children
Remio is rated for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13.

We may update this policy; the “last updated” date above will change.
